Job description

Purpose within the Organization:

To assist the L.O.P.E.S. Program Manager and Program Director with program operations. This is a 15 hour a week position.

L.O.P.E.S. Academy mission:

To provide a post-secondary, Christian university campus experience for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities focused on finding personal purpose through academic, social and job skills development.

Responsibilities Related to Purpose:

  • Assist with Administrative Tasks
  • Support Program Participants throughout their L.O.P.E.S. Academy experience
  • Greet all L.O.P.E.S Academy visitors ranging from program candidates, parents and outside dignitaries, and direct them accordingly
  • Schedule Interviews, meetings and social activities
  • Create and edit Microsoft Documents (Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point)
  • Answer and make phone calls in a professional manner
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Comfortable interacting with individuals with intellectual disabilities, direct experience preferred.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient typing skills.
  • Be comfortable working in a professional environment with all levels of staff and faculty.
  • Service oriented.
  • Comfortable with GCU's campus and departments to direct guests, students and staff.
  • Prior computer knowledge and be able to copy, scan and fax documents.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Self-motivated with a desire to learn and serve

Experience/Education:
Grand Canyon University is committed to a student first policy. Therefore, all applicants must meet the following
eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:

  • Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor's program or Master's program.
  • Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
  • Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.

Pay rate: Minimum Wage

Expected End Date: June 30, 2026
