ABOUT THIS ROLE

We're seeking an Associate Account Executive or Account Executive to join our Technology & Corporate Communications team. This is an exciting opportunity for an emerging communications professional with prior agency or in-house experience who is passionate about storytelling, earned media and helping clients break through an increasingly competitive news environment.

The ideal candidate is a creative thinker with strong media instincts who enjoys identifying trends, developing compelling story ideas and building relationships with reporters. While experience working with technology clients is a plus, we are equally interested in candidates with backgrounds in consumer, lifestyle, fashion, food, sports, entertainment or other brand communications who have demonstrated success generating earned media.

ROLE LOCATION: This role is based in our New York, N.Y. office on a hybrid basis, in-office 3 days per week.

ACCOUNTABILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS

As an AAE or AE on the Technology & Corporate Communications team, you will:

  • Drive day-to-day execution across multiple client accounts while partnering closely with account leads to advance strategic communications programs.
  • Develop creative, newsworthy story ideas, editorial calendars and proactive media opportunities that elevate client visibility beyond traditional announcements.
  • Conduct thoughtful earned media outreach, build relationships with reporters and secure high-impact coverage across top-tier, trade and industry publications.
  • Monitor the news cycle and identify timely opportunities to insert clients into relevant conversations and cultural moments.
  • Draft high-quality client materials, including media pitches, press releases, briefing documents, messaging, fact sheets, media lists, thought leadership content and other communications deliverables.
  • Conduct media research and analysis to inform communications strategies and identify new opportunities for clients.
  • Help manage account workflow, timelines and client deliverables while collaborating across integrated account teams.
  • Support client meetings, prepare agendas, capture meeting notes and contribute to presentations and strategic recommendations.
  • Represent Orchestra's collaborative, entrepreneurial culture through proactive communication, strong project management and exceptional client service.

Essential skills:

  • Approximately 1-3 years of experience supporting consumer brands in public relations, media relations, strategic communications or journalism; agency experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated success developing and executing earned media campaigns and pitching reporters.
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills, with experience creating media pitches, press materials, briefing documents and other client-facing communications.
  • Excellent media instincts with the ability to identify emerging trends, develop creative angles and translate complex topics into compelling stories.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, client-service environment.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, clients and members of the media.
  • A collaborative mindset and eagerness to contribute to a growing, high-performing team.
  • Experience working with technology, sports clients is strongly preferred but not required.

WORKING AT ORCHESTRA:

Salary range (commensurate with experience and skills): 

  • Associate Account Executive: $55,000 - $70,000
  • Account Executive: $70,000 - $85,000
