Job description

Description
NYU Langone is currently seeking an academic nocturnist physician for NYU Langone Hospital - Brooklyn. The chosen candidate will work alongside a team of nocturnists and serve in a leadership capacity to ensure adequate supervision of housestaff and smooth overnight operations. The physician will provide direct supervision to housestaff who are providing night-time coverage for patients admitted to the general medical wards. The nocturnist will also staff resident admissions overnight and assist with rapid responses and all clinical escalation involving patients admitted to the housestaff teams. The nocturnist will also provide direct patient care to a cohort of patients admitted on the attending-only service.
In addition to the core responsibilities, the nocturnist may assist with admissions to the non-teach service as needed, supervise allied health professionals, coordinate and distribute patients boarding in the ED to hospitalist teams, and prepare all necessary handoff on patients under their care overnight.
The physician will work a 7-on/7-off schedule with additional PTO provided. We have a closed ICU and a daytime procedure service. We serve a diverse, underserved community of Brooklyn and remain mission-driven.

Salary range: $280,000 - $300,000

• Medical Degree from an Accredited University
• New York State Medical License
• Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine
