The Director of Transportation Services provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and regulatory compliance for a large multi-vehicle transportation department. This role ensures the safe, efficient, and fiscally responsible operation of a fleet exceeding 140 vehicles while maintaining compliance with NYS DMV, DOT, and Article 19-A regulations. The Director oversees staff training and development, fleet maintenance, budgeting, incident investigations, and collaboration with internal and external partners to deliver safe and reliable transportation services.
Requirements
Minimum Education & Experience:
  • High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Five or more years of transportation or fleet management experience.
  • Five or more years of supervisory and training experience.

Licensure & Certification:
  • NYS Article 19-A Examiner Certification.
  • NYS CDL Class B or C with Passenger Endorsement.

Skills & Knowledge:
  • Strong knowledge of NYS DMV, DOT, and Article 19-A regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and computer skills.
