Position Summary:
Alamon, Inc., a Montana-based employee-owned company since 1975, provides installation services to the utilities, energy, and communications industries nationwide. There is no ceiling when it comes to your professional growth at Alamon, an employee - owned company.
Alamon, Inc. is seeking a Tower Foreman for its Wireless Services Department.
This position entails: Overseeing and managing tower crews during the installation, maintenance, repair, optimization, and management of wireless communication infrastructure on cell towers, rooftops, and other elevated structures. As a senior-level position, this role requires extensive leadership and technical expertise, coupled with strong project management skills and commitment to safety and quality. Individuals must have experience with Verizon, AT&T, Tower and Small Cell. Must be NWSA (National Wireless Safety Alliance) Certified. Travel will be required for this position.
Job Description:
  • Plan and oversee the daily operations at assigned work sites.
  • Implement and follow through with job instructions provided by leadership.
  • Ensure safety and quality control requirements at work locations and with the crew are always met.
  • Act as a point person for emergency situations, coordinating responses to equipment failures, power outages, or adverse weather conditions to ensure the safety of personnel and equipment.
  • Expertly set up and operate rigging, winches, and hoisting equipment to ensure the safe and efficient movement of heavy loads on towers and structures.
  • Monitor and inspect work performed to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
  • Coordinate the availability of equipment, tools, and materials.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues.
  • Compile all site-specific closeout documentation and upload closeout documentation to customer interfaces.
  • Coordinate with customer representatives for site-related activities and maintain a good working relationship with customer representation.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and actively train / promote learning to all crew members.
  • Always ensure that equipment and vehicles are maintained and in operational condition.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Position Qualifications:
  • Must pass the pre-employment screening process which includes a background check, drug test and motor vehicle records pull.
  • Have the ability and mentality to work outdoors, in a physically demanding work environment and all-weather conditions, lifting or moving up to 50lbs., and hiking over various terrain.
  • Possess a current and valid driver's license and a clean driving record with no DUI / DWIs within the past 5 years.
  • Be available to work nights and weekends as required by project demands.
  • Willing to travel locally, statewide, or regionally as required.

Work Environment:
  • This position will work outdoors, year-round, in all weather conditions, and on varying terrain. May work for long periods in hot, cold, wet, windy, or icy conditions.
  • Exposure to dust, odors, gases, vapors, wet or slick surfaces, and loud noises is possible.
  • Must be comfortable working with heights.
  • Must always wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in compliance with Company standards and governmental regulations.

Physical Demands:
  • This is a physically arduous position that requires working outside in varying weather types and exposure to the elements.
  • Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 75lbs.
  • Be comfortable at heights of 1000ft or more.
  • Must be willing to work either day or night shifts when necessary.

Travel Requirements:
  • Travel will be required based off the needs of the project.
  • Transportation and lodging are provided while traveling and working out of town for the Company.

Education and Experience:
  • Trade school or equivalent experience.
  • Highschool Diploma or GED preferred.
  • At least 3 years of tower-related experience or experience as a wireless technician.
  • At least 1-2 years as a Tower Crew Foreman.
  • Experience with T-Mobile and/or Verizon Networks and/or AT&T Networks
  • Able to lift 75 pounds.
  • Sweep and PIM Testing Experience needed.
  • Fiber Troubleshooting and Experience needed.
  • Familiar with tools such as Putty, SecureCRT, WinSCP and CMD.
  • Must be comfortable working with DC power systems, batteries, and DC electrical wiring and can perform call testing and capture customer test requirements.
  • Familiarization with PPC, CommScope, RFS coax connectors is also necessary.
  • Attainment of mobile elevated work platform certification.
  • Tower Climbing and Rigging Certification.
  • NWSA TTT 1 or 2 Certification.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office skills.
  • OSHA 30 Hours for Construction Certification.
