Job Description

The Healthcare Consulting Advisor is responsible for interpreting claims, engagement, and health outcome data to uncover utilization patterns, gaps in care, and opportunities to improve cost efficiency and member outcomes. The role produces executive level summaries, performance dashboards, and strategic reports that clearly communicate program performance and support data driven decision making. The Advisor develops polished presentations, educational materials, and policy summaries; drafts executive briefings for senior federal leadership; and translates complex clinical and insurance terminology into accessible, member friendly language. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that insights are delivered with clarity, accuracy, and strategic alignment.
This role additionally requires extensive knowledge and execution of comprehensive wellness programming tailored to the federal market, which includes federal employees and Agency Benefits Officers (ABOs) across government agencies. The Advisor must demonstrate a charismatic and engaging presence, strong creative problem-solving capabilities, and proficiency in public speaking and presenting. The position is responsible for designing and implementing health initiatives, fitness challenges, and educational workshops to support health improvement goals across these diverse federal groups. 75% travel is required to be successful in this role.

What You'll Do

  • Analyze claims, engagement, and health outcomes data to uncover actionable insights that inform strategy and decisionmaking.

  • Identifyutilizationtrends, gaps in care, and opportunities for cost containment to support highvalue care delivery.

  • Develop executivelevel summaries, performance dashboards, and strategic reports that tell a clear, compelling story with data.

  • Create highquality presentations, educational materials, and policy summaries tailored to diverse audiences.

  • Draft concise, impactful executive briefings for senior federal leadership.

  • Translate complex clinical, insurance, and programmatic concepts into clear, memberfriendly language.

  • Partner closely with FEP Group Consultants, traveling together to government agencies across all 100 North Carolina counties to support federal employee engagement and program delivery, requiring regular statewide travel.

  • Manage multiple projects and deliverables simultaneously,demonstratingstrong project management, prioritization, and documentation skills.

  • Ensuretimelyexecution of assignments, communications, and program deliverables across all FEP initiatives.

  • Deliver engaging presentations and educational sessions in both inperson and virtual formats to meet agency needs statewide.

  • 75% travel is required

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree or advanced degree (where required)

  • 3+ years of experience in related field.

  • In lieu of degree, 5+ years of experience in related field.

  • Strong preference for experience in population health and wellness programming, including health education and chronic condition initiatives for federal employee groups and Agency Benefits Officers (ABOs)

  • Clinical or health sciences background preferred (e.g., RN, RD, Nutritionist, or similar), with knowledge of preventive care guidelines (USPSTF, CDC) and chronic disease management.

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple agency accounts; PMP preferred but not required; able to prioritize in a fastpaced federal environment.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including executivelevel presentations, clear written reporting, and translating clinical and insurance concepts into memberfriendly language.

  • Proven relationshipbuilding and organizational skills, understanding of benefit and insurance products, and ability to support agency engagement.

  • Flexibility and willingness to travel up to 75% of the time.

Salary Range

At Blue Cross NC, we take great pride in a fair and equitable compensation package that reflects market-price and our starting salaries are typically planned near the middle of the range listed. Compensation decisions are driven by factors including experience and training, specialized skill sets, licensure and certifications and other business and organizational needs.Our base salary is part of a robust Total Rewards package that includes an Annual Incentive Bonus*, 401(k) with employer match, Paid Time Off (PTO), and competitive health benefits and wellness programs.
