Job Goal:
To assist the Nutrition Manager and/or Nutrition Director with duties in the kitchen/cafeteria as needed.
Qualifications
• GED or High school diploma is required.
Professional Responsibilities

• Working knowledge of materials, methods, equipment, and sanitation measures to meet job goals
• Set a good example in dress, arriving on time, observing workday schedule, and regular attendance.
• Working knowledge of National School Lunch and School Breakfast programs
Human Relation Responsibilities
• Ability to work with others
• Courteous
• Positive relationships with other employees
• Positive relationships with students, parents, and public
• Promotes positive image of school and school system
• Focuses on good customer service
Job Responsibilities
• Maintains the policies and standards of the Board of Education, state and federal school nutrition programs.
• Follows written and oral instructions from the Nutrition Manager or Nutrition Director.
• Rims dish room equipment during serving periods.
• Clean floors, walls baseboards and ceilings in an appropriate manner on a regular basis.
• Clean bathroom and provide needed supplies.
• Clean back porch, mop room and dumpster area as needed.
• Assists in unloading and putting up stock.
• Assists in keeping freezer, cooler and dry storage clean and organized.
• Assists with pest control measures.
• Assists in supervision and maintenance of all cleaning equipment and supplies.
• Attends regularly scheduled meetings.
• Makes recommendations for the improvement of the operation.
• Assumes responsibility for any other task or function that may be necessary for the successful management and operation of the school lunch program.
Physical Requirements
• Must be able to stand and work for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift at a minimum 10#
• Wears approved dress code as adopted by the Board.
Professionalism Responsibilities
• Attend training sessions while making an effort to improve job knowledge and skills
• Confers with the School Nutrition Director regarding program concerns to meet job goals.
Performs other related tasks as requested by the Manager or designee.
