Position Summary:

TheBilingual Community Health Promoteris responsible forsupportingthe Safe Pregnancies/EmbarazoSeguro program. In this role, Promoters will facilitatecharlas(small educational sessions) and serve as advocates for their communities, connecting clients with health resources and addressing issues related to food insecurity.

Position Requirements:

  • Recruit participants for this program and other LCDA health initiatives through various community outreach strategies

  • Provide education to individuals and communities about the benefits of a healthy pregnancy, preconception planning, and strategies to reduce risks to both the pregnant individual and the infant

  • Provide transportation services for one-on-one appointments related to pre-conception, conception, prenatal, postpartum care, and childcare access

  • Promote informed decision-making by offering support networks and resources related to child wellness for Safe Pregnancy clients

  • Lead group health and wellness classes focusing on nutrition, obesity prevention, and diabetes management

  • Organize educational activities, supermarket visits, and SNAP enrollment in collaboration with community partners such as churches, schools, and local neighborhoods

  • Connect participants with local resources, including physical education classes, walking groups, community gardens, mobile markets, farmers' markets, and food banks

  • Activelyparticipatein health-related events within the Hispanic community, such as health fairs, group presentations, and church activities

  • Assistparticipants in enrolling inSoonerCare, DHS Medicaid, or the Health Marketplace

  • Provide outreach and education onimmunizations andorganize clinics with a focus on vaccine importance

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position with typical workinghours ofMonday through Friday,37.5 hoursper week, including evenings, andpotentiallyweekends. Work hours and shifts may vary based on business needs. Employees must be available to beon-callas needed, including evenings, Saturdays, or Sundays.

Locationand Travel:

This position is based remotely in the Tulsa area and requires some local travel, primarily within the Doula's area of residence.Team members will be required to travel to the Oklahoma City home office several times each month for internal meetings, but day-to-day supervision and check-ins will be handled remotely.

RequiredMinimumJob Qualifications, Experience,andEducation:

Education:Associate's degree ina health-related fieldorother relevant education

Experience:Strongexperienceworkingin a healthcare setting and/or knowledge of health and nutrition.

Skills:Fluencyin both English and Spanish isrequired.Proficient in Microsoft Word andpossessesintermediate general computer skills.

Education:Bachelor's degree in a health-related field or other relevant education
