Job description

Position Summary:

Theย Performance Dietitian will be responsible for providing world class nutrition services in order to help IMG athletes and clients maximize performance through nutrition.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the fueling of our IMG Academy student-athletes
  • Travel with teams as necessary to both in-state and out-of-state competitions
  • Develop and deliver practical, educational, entertaining, and age-appropriate nutrition content to groups and individuals of a variety of ages who participate in a variety of sports
  • Design and implement a 10-month nutrition curriculum to integrate within a sport
  • Deliver 1:1 and group sessions for full-time student-athletes, camp athletes, adult athletes and professional athletes, as indicated.
  • Deliver Athletic and Personal Development Classes in Nutrition during both the Academy year and for summer campers.
  • Tailor message accordingly to a broad client base ranging from youth to elite athletes across a range of sports, cultures, and countries.
  • Design nutrition plans to safely meet athleteโ€™s goals.
  • Promote the value of nutrition for performance to sports, coaches and athletes on campus.
  • Ensure Nutrition services at IMG Academy are based on the latest, evidence-based practices in the field.
  • Work with Sport Science, and the Gatorade Sports Science Institute (GSSI) to optimize performance and recovery.
  • Integrate and coordinate with the APD team of specialists that work within the assigned sports to best service the athletes and promote a team approach to education and support.
  • Assist in delivering the strategy for supplementation at IMG Academy.
  • Provide coach education and work collaboratively with various departments across campus to promote the value of nutrition education.
  • Support and deliver IMG Institute events as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Registered Dietitian (RD)
  • State Licensure in FL (LD) or State Licensure eligibility within 30 days of hire.
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Nutrition, Sports Nutrition, or related field.
  • Ability to comply with legislation in Florida in relation to Nutrition services and advice.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and motivational skills along with strong written and verbal presentation skills with the ability to interface with a variety of audiences.
  • Understanding of latest research in the field of sports nutrition.
  • Experience building menu and catering needs for athletes to maximize athletic performance.
  • Ability to take accurate measurements, including body weight and height.
  • Experience with nutrient analysis software.
  • Auditory and visual ability to assess and provide nutrition care.
  • Good math skills.
  • Knowledge and ability to use PC and related software.
  • Ability to understand rules of various sports governing bodies regarding restricted substances and supplements.
  • Ability to deliver current knowledge in realistic and practical terms.
  • Strong ability to connect well with the younger athlete.
  • Perceived credibility as a subject matter expert in the field of Nutrition.
  • Meet professional standards when working with clients, department staff, interns, and other professionals. This includes the ability to troubleshoot situations and deal with any unique situations that may arise.
  • Participate in a team environment to ensure best practices of nutrition service.
  • Proactive personality who is a role model for nutrition on IMG Academy campus.
  • Strong time management, adaptability and flexibility.
  • Being open and responsive to feedback.
  • Strong classroom management skills to facilitate a conducive learning environment.
  • Strong customer service skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Master of Science in nutrition or exercise related field.
  • CSSD (Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics)
  • Multi-lingual
  • Experience working with a youth population
  • Experience with Teamworks and Smartabase suite of products, including Teamworks Nutrition
  • Experience as an athlete or coach

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Ability to lift, move, push and pull equipment or boxes in excess of 40 lbs.
  • Should be able to handle outdoor temperatures for a reasonable period of time.
  • Must be able to move around campus, which includes gym, turf, fields, etc.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays, is required.
