Schedule: Days/Evenings: After several months of orientation (Mon-Fri 7am-3:30pm), pick either 10 or 12 hour shifts during the work week w/rotating on-call responsibilities on any day including holidays. There would be a consistent schedule of one of the shifts below.
    • 7am-5:30pm OR
    • 7am-7:30pm
 
Pay Range: $26.75 - $34.00, based on experience.

Job Objectives

  • To directly assist, within the sterile operative field, the Surgeon & First Assistant during surgery by assuring that a sterile environment is maintained & all necessary surgical instruments/supplies are readily available to the surgeons.
  • Skill and knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instruments and surgical procedures are required.
  • The ability to develop & maintain collaborative working relationships with members of the surgical team is needed.
  • Actively guards confidentiality of sensitive info. including but not limited to the patients, staff & the health system.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient

Key Responsibilities

  • Assures a safe and efficient environment is provided for the surgical patient by preparing for each assigned case
  • Is an active member of the surgical team
  • Assures overall efficiency of department by effectively clearing Operating Room following the case
  • Assures an optimal perioperative environment to meet the needs of the patient ·Provides appropriate and quality care based on the results of current nursing research and quality improvement monitoring results.

Qualifications:

  • National Surgical Technology certification or credentialed/grandfathered by NYS per 1/21/15 DOH regulation (2824) OR NYS LPN license required.
  • BLS Certification required.
  • Previous experience as a surgical scrub tech strongly preferred (at this time cannot hire an LPN without surgical OR exp).
  • Regardless of what shift hired for, will need to orient on days M-F 7am-3:30pm for the first several months.
  • On-call requirements required based on unit needs.

Pay Range: $26.75 - $34.00
