As part of our hospice team, you'll play a vital role in delivering care that honors each patient's goals, values, and comfort. You'll collaborate closely with referral sources, care teams, and families while providing direct, compassionate nursing care to patients in their homes, assisted living communities, and long-term care facilities-ensuring care is always aligned with hospice philosophy.
The visiting hospice nurse travels to patient locations to deliver hands-on clinical care, assess needs, manage symptoms, and provide education and support. This role uses independent judgment consistent with the mission and objectives of the organization.

Qualifications:
  • Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
    Colleagues hired with an associate degree must enter a BSN program within 12 months of hire and earn their BSN from a NLN or CCNE accredited program within 5 years of beginning their BSN degree.
    Effective February 2021, Colleagues hired with an associate degree and 10 or more years of nursing experience may be exempt from entering into a BSN program.
  • Valid Indiana Registered Nurse license is required. American Heart Association CPR certification.
  • 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience
  • Valid driver's license and proof of auto insurance
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds, assist with lifting 100 pounds. Lifting requirement may be heavier for specified departments.
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills
