What is a remote Catholic nurse?

A remote Catholic nurse is a licensed nursing professional who provides healthcare services remotely, often through telehealth platforms, while adhering to the ethical and moral teachings of the Catholic faith. These nurses may work for Catholic healthcare organizations or serve patients who seek care consistent with Catholic values. Their responsibilities can include patient assessment, education, care coordination, and support, all delivered virtually. The remote setting allows them to reach patients who may be homebound or live in underserved areas, while still upholding the principles of Catholic healthcare.

How does a remote Catholic nurse collaborate with patients and healthcare teams while upholding Catholic ethical principles?

As a remote Catholic nurse, you'll frequently engage with patients and interdisciplinary healthcare teams via telehealth platforms, secure messaging, and virtual meetings. Upholding Catholic ethical principles means integrating faith-based values—such as respect for human dignity, compassion, and commitment to ethical decision-making—into your care delivery. You'll often collaborate with chaplains, social workers, and physicians to ensure holistic support for patients, especially in sensitive situations involving end-of-life care or moral dilemmas. This role requires strong communication skills and a clear understanding of both clinical protocols and Catholic healthcare directives.
