Cardiology Nurse Practitioner

Relocation Assistance Provided

Employment Type: Permanent | Full-Time | Four 10-Hour Days | Day Shift

Location: La Grande, OR (Rural Eastern Oregon)

Compensation: $135K - $140K+ per year

We are seeking a dedicated and innovative Nurse Practitioner or Physician Associate (PA) to join our cardiology team. In this collaborative role, the provider will work directly with cardiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with cardiovascular conditions. Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessments, assist in the management of cardiovascular disease, contribute to diagnostic evaluations, provide patient education on disease prevention and management including lifestyle changes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive physical examinations and cardiovascular assessments for new and follow-up patients
  • Manage chronic conditions including heart failure, coronary artery disease, arrhythmias, and hypertension
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as 12-lead EKGs, echocardiograms, and cardiac stress tests
  • Educate patients and families on disease pathology, medication adherence, and surgical recovery
  • Counsel patients on lifestyle modifications including heart-healthy nutrition, exercise, and smoking cessation
  • Coordinate care transitions between inpatient units, outpatient clinics, and primary care providers
  • Document patient encounters accurately within the electronic health record system for billing and continuity
  • Triage urgent patient concerns and facilitate emergency admissions or interventions when necessary
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds to discuss complex patient cases and optimize clinical outcomes
  • Assist in the performance of minor clinical procedures as permitted by state law and facility credentialing
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program (required)
  • Current NP or PA licensure (required)
  • 1-2 years of experience as a NP/PA (required)
  • Board certification or board eligibility (required)
  • Comfort with and interest in practicing in a rural community setting
Compensation & Benefits
