Job description

Harrison County Hospital is seeking to hire an experienced Pre-op/PACU RN to join our team in the Surgery Department.

This position is full-time, Monday through Friday, plus call, 32 hours per week.

RN Preop/PAT/PACU/Outpatient/Procedure Area, under the supervision and direction of the Surgical Nurse Manager, is a FT/PT/PRN employee responsible for coordinating the care of all patients in the Procedure room, PACU room and Out-Patient areas. Responsible for meeting the established surgical standards of nursing practice, for managing all assigned personnel, supplies and equipment in the preop area, PACU, PAT and out-patient area and for promoting teamwork with physicians, surgical staff, and ancillary department personnel. Responsible for preop interviews as related to pre-anesthesia testing. He/she should be emotionally stable and mature, accurate, and flexible in his/her dealings with other people.

Education/Experience:

  • Graduate of an accredited college of nursing
  • Previous OR, RR, OP surgery experience preferred

Skills:

  • Extremely organized
  • Tact and diplomacy in dealing with patient families, physicians and hospital staff
  • Ability to perform IV starts and maintenance
  • Ability to accurately monitor cardiac rhythms.
