Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner Opportunity

Location: Appleton, WI

Facility Name: St. Elizabeth's Hospital

Schedule: PRN as needed; 7a.m. - 7p.m.

What You Will Do

This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner to join an employed position within a busy, well-respected practice, supported by a strong referral base and the full resources of a robust health system network.

  • Collaborate with a dedicated, multidisciplinary team supported by 24/7 nursing, MD's, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, and Education Specialists
  • Provide care on a 17-bed inpatient behavioral health unit serving adolescents (ages 5–18), with an average daily census of 11 patients and typical length of stay of 5–7 days, focused on acute crisis stabilization for conditions including suicidal/homicidal ideation, psychosis, and other safety concerns
  • Help support the Partial Hospitalization Program
  • Serving a surrounding population of 230,000
  • Employed position within a nonprofit health system
  • Provide comprehensive patient care in collaboration with physicians, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, preventive care, and management of acute and chronic health conditions.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, educate patients and families, coordinate referrals and community resources, and maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with established standards and policies.

What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Drug Enforcement Admin credentialed from the Drug Enforcement Administration preferred.

Education:

  • Master's degree of Nursing required.
