Job Description
Opportunity:
LT - Hematology/Oncology NP
Job Details:
  • Inpatient Hematology/Oncology APP (NP or PA) position with open to locums to perm options
  • Day shift, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
  • Full-time schedule with 2 positions available: one focused on Oncology and one with a strong Hematology focus
  • See 11-16 patients per day across all age groups
  • Experience with benign and malignant hematology patients required
  • Responsibilities include initial inpatient consults, ongoing patient care, discharge execution, cycle 1 day 1 chemotherapy overviews, ongoing chemotherapy visits, and survivorship clinic visits
  • Provide Hypersensitivity Reaction supervision and triage support/medical record in-basket support
  • Same-day documentation expected for inpatient services; outpatient documentation expected same day with a 3-day maximum
  • No call coverage required
  • APP support available on the inpatient side during daytime hours for both Hematology and Oncology
  • Knowledge around bone marrow practice helpful but specialized experience not required at this time
  • EMR: Epic (experience required)
  • Certifications required: BLS and ACLS
  • Minimum 2 years of experience required
  • MN license required; IMLC considered for licensing assistance
  • DEA not required

    This is a large, well-established hospital with 686 beds, serving as a major medical center offering comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services. The facility features a dedicated Hematology/Oncology department with a growing bone marrow practice and robust support staff infrastructure. The organization utilizes Epic EMR and fosters a collaborative, multidisciplinary care environment with APP support integrated into the inpatient care model.
