Location: 933 Waube Ln, Green Bay, WI 54304
Hours: Full-Time 0.80 FTE (32 hours/week)
Work Schedule: 4 days/week, 8 AM - 5 PM.
Job Description:
Role is to function as a patient educator to provide quality information needed for hip or knee replacement surgery. Will assist with teaching total joint educational classes either one-on-one or in a group setting. Assist with maintaining educational booklet and class materials, such as PowerPoint and patient handouts
Nurse Care Navigator role entails coordinating patient care throughout their surgical journey and recovery process to ensure they get a safe and exceptional experience. Be the patients' contact for all their total joint needs pre and post-surgery and assist with navigating additional resources as needed. Communicate with patients post operatively to evaluate pain management and provide any additional education.
Responsible and accountable for providing quality, safe, professional nursing care to patients, their families and caregivers. Adhere to the WI Nurse Practice Act, Administrative Code of the WI Board of Nursing, and/or appropriate nursing standards governing nursing in the state of practice, the ANA Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice, the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses and Bellin Health Policies and Procedures. The responsibility includes providing a safe environment for patients, families, staff and visitors; working collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary health care team to provide the best team-based care for the patient; and ensuring they get the necessary education and information in the appropriate.
Community involvement and collaboration is encouraged.
Qualifications:
  • WI RN License and Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
  • The RN must complete their BSN within five years of the hire date.
  • Knowledgeable in computer and keyboarding skills, excellent verbal and written communication, team player, highly motivated, ability to function independently and autonomously, able to multi-task, organized and sensitive to patient needs are also required. Must be comfortable speaking in a group setting.
  • Encouraged to seek life-long learning opportunities, such as obtaining Orthopedic Nursing Certification (ONC).
  • At least two years of nursing experience required. Orthopedic experience in a hospital or clinical setting is preferred.
