CNA National is seeking a Tableau Architect to lead our enterprise Tableau environment and analytics strategyโ€”someone who can architect scalable reporting, build high-impact dashboards, and translate data into actionable insights.

This is a hands-on, high-visibility, customer-facing role where youโ€™ll partner across the business and with external stakeholders to shape how data drives decisions.

What Youโ€™ll Do

Tableau Platform & BI Leadership

  • Architect, administer, and optimize Tableau Cloud (performance, security, scalability)
  • Manage user access, authentication, and external integrations
  • Define and enforce reporting standards, governance, and design best practices
  • Embed dashboards into applications and enterprise tools
  • Leverage Tableau APIs for automation and system integration

Analytics & Insights

  • Build interactive dashboards and executive reporting
  • Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify trends and opportunities
  • Partner with stakeholders to define KPIs, metrics, and business logic
  • Translate data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across reporting layers

Data Engineering Collaboration

  • Write and optimize advanced SQL queries across multiple systems
  • Design aggregates and semantic layers for high-performance reporting
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering on data models and pipelines
  • Support QlikView to Tableau migration
  • Document data flows, metrics, and dashboards for governance

Stakeholder & Customer Engagement

  • Work directly with internal teams and external partners
  • Gather requirements and deliver impactful, data-driven solutions
  • Present insights to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Train and support users on BI tools and best practices
  • Mentor junior analysts and serve as a Tableau subject matter expert

Qualifications

โœ” 5โ€“10+ years of experience in Business Intelligence / Analytics / Reporting
โœ” Deep expertise with Tableau (Cloud, administration, architecture)
โœ” Advanced SQL skills (multi-database environments)
โœ” Strong experience with data visualization & dashboard design
โœ” Solid understanding of data warehousing, lakehouse, and data modeling
โœ” Experience building semantic layers & performance-optimized datasets
โœ” Strong communication skillsโ€”able to translate data into business insights
โœ” Experience working with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders


Preferred
  • Tableau APIs, dashboard embedding into applications
  • Experience with QlikView โ†’ Tableau migration
  • Cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery)
  • Python for analytics, automation, or integration
  • Knowledge of data governance, compliance, and privacy frameworks
