Job description

Because this position requires regular on-site work at our Creative Studios in Westlake, Ohio, we will focus on candidates who currently reside in Northeast Ohio.
Remote work and relocation assistance are not available for this role.
American Greetings is seeking an entry level Commercial Analyst to join our Insights & Analytics team.
This role provides the opportunity to learn AG data sources, product hierarchies, and retailer attributes in order to complete Point-of-Sale (POS) analysis and retailer reporting using mathematical and category management techniques. The analyst will also learn basic business processes and develop working relationships with the Sales, Occasion, Promotions, and other analytics teams

Reporting to the Director of Commercial Analytics, the analyst will develop retailer-specific reports, analyses, and insights utilizing a number of data sources, including POS, shipments, product footage/space, retailer loyalty card data portals, Circana, etc.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participates in training and other learning opportunities for the corporate data sources/structures, analytical tools/software packages, and business functions.
Under the direction of the Director of Commercial Analytics or Senior Data Analysts, performs ad-hoc retailer analytics and recurring analytical processes / reports as needed.
With guidance, works on projects and tasks to build basic proficiency in data analysis/mining as well as understanding, interpreting, and presenting results using analytical tools (SQL, R, Python, Excel, retailer loyal card data portals, Power BI, etc.).
Works with Sales team leadership to develop a fact-based selling relationship with the retailer's buying and merchandising teams.
Develops a working knowledge of retailer joint planning techniques and how to leverage retailer loyalty card portal data.
With guidance, develops presentations that are used by the Sales teams to communicate product sales performance during retailer meetings and headquarters visits.
Communicates analysis and insights to internal clients, verbally and in writing
