Job description

Position Overview

Woolpert is hiring an Engineer in Training to join our dynamic Site Civil Energy Practice at our Columbus, OH office. 

We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position.  Applicants must already possess work authorization in the country the job is located.

What You Will Do:

  • Design and create site layout plans in alignment with client requirements and Woolpert standards.
  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to develop concept plans, grading plans, and site designs.
  • Strong interest and working knowledge in survey, data collection, field reports, hydrology, sustainability, project delivery, site civil and stormwater management.
  • Proven ability to multi-task, appropriately prioritize workflow and complete tasks.
  • Work with project management team to identify impediments and develop / implement solutions to overcome obstacles.
  • Perform pavement assessments and compiling data and reports
  • Occasional field work, frequent local travel, and overnight travel as needed
  • Draft and coordinate multiple task orders, including filing, coordination, correspondence, and deliverables
  • Other duties as assigned

What You Will Bring:

  • BS in Civil Engineering 
  • 1+ years related experience.
  • An Engineer Intern (E.I.) or Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
  • Experience in Autodesk Civil 3d
  • Experience in Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and writing)
  • Experience in Hydraulics and Hydrology preferred.
