Role Summary: The SEO & AEO Strategist will own and drive SEO and AEO strategy for an assigned portfolio of client partners, connecting organic search performance to business outcomes and contributing to long-term client retention and growth at ChoiceLocal.


This role bridges execution and strategy โ€” developing proactive growth recommendations, aligning SEO and AI search visibility efforts, and collaborating cross-functionally to ensure optimization work delivers meaningful results for client partners.

Core Responsibilities:

  • SEO & AEO Strategy Ownership
  • Develop and own the SEO and AEO strategy for an assigned portfolio of client partner accounts.
  • Build proactive organic growth strategies aligned to client business goals
  • Develop keyword, intent, and entity-based strategies that span content, technical, and local SEO
  • Balance traditional SEO with AI answer engine and generative search visibility strategies
  • Identify and prioritize high-impact optimization opportunities across accounts


Performance Analysis & Recommendations

  • Analyze performance data and translate findings into strategic direction.
  • Monitor and interpret organic traffic, rankings, lead generation, and visibility trends
  • Identify performance risks and opportunities early
  • Develop and present data-driven recommendations to improve results
  • Align optimization priorities with conversion and business outcome goals


Content & AI Visibility Strategy

  • Guide content direction and AI search visibility optimization across assigned accounts.
  • Develop content strategies aligned to search intent and AI summarization behavior
  • Identify opportunities for featured snippets, People Also Ask, and AI answer engine visibility
  • Collaborate with content teams on topic development, optimization, and AI-readiness
  • Leverage AI tools to enhance research, strategy, and content refinement


Client Partner Communication

  • Serve as a strategic voice for SEO and AEO performance with client partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Present SEO strategy, performance updates, and recommendations clearly and confidently
  • Translate complex SEO concepts into business-relevant language
  • Participate in client strategy calls and reviews as needed
  • Collaborate with Account teams to align SEO efforts with broader partner goals


Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work across teams to ensure SEO strategy is integrated into broader marketing efforts.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Digital Media, Business, Analytics, or related field preferred
  • 3โ€“5 years of SEO experience in an agency or multi-account environment

  • Experience presenting SEO strategy and performance to clients or stakeholders
