Notary In State information

Can a notary in state work in any state?

A notary in state is authorized to perform notarial acts only within the state where they are commissioned. To work in another state, they must obtain a commission in that state and meet its specific requirements, which may include additional training or exams. Notaries cannot legally perform notarial duties across state lines without proper authorization from each state.

Do notaries make a lot of money?

Notaries typically earn modest income, often charging per signature or document, with earnings varying by location and workload. Many notaries supplement their income through additional services or certifications, but it is generally not a high-paying profession on its own.

Is being a notary in state a good side hustle?

Being a notary in state can be a viable side hustle as it typically requires minimal startup costs, flexible hours, and can generate additional income through notarizations. Success depends on local demand, marketing efforts, and obtaining necessary certification or commission from the state. It is often used to supplement other income sources or as a part-time gig.
