Job description

The Neil Jones Food Company is an industry leader, processing superior quality fresh-packed, vine-ripened California tomatoes and Pacific Northwest fruit. Headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, NJFC has been providing our nationโ€™s discerning foodservice, retail, industrial and institutional customers with the finest quality canned and pouched products for over 50 years. NJFC operates three production facilities: Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA.

We are looking for a seasonal Field Receiving Clerk to be responsible for providing the drivers with the proper Processor Tomato Advisory Board paperwork and make sure that all the information on the State Tag is correct to the best of their knowledge. This role will be responsible for reconciling and filing all the paperwork accordingly in our system in a timely manner at our TomaTek plant in Firebaugh, CA. This is a seasonal position supporting our fresh pack season, typically June โ€“ October.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organizes and maintains all the envelopes with the proper paperwork and reports. Maintain an efficient daily log sheet.
  • Receive the State tag from grading station.
  • Prepares the request day tag for the driver with all the correct information and gives the proper paperwork to drivers.
  • Issue day tag with their designated load # according to the number of loads required.
  • Know all the functions to properly receive and/or correct errors.

Requirements:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
  • Requires excellent computer skills โ€“ proficient in MS Word, and Excel.
  • Able to quickly and accurately type and enter data; knowledge of touch-typing preferred.
  • Able to interact with truck drivers, employees, management, and State Employees in courteous and respectful manner.
  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug test, work extended hours, weekends, and any shift assigned during the fresh pack season, typically July to early October.
