Job description

Elite Construction & Development is seeking an experiencedCommercial Construction Superintendent to lead the field execution of commercial construction projects throughout the Pacific Northwest.


We are looking for a field leader who understands how work should flow, holds high standards for safety and quality, communicates effectively, develops others, and takes ownership of project execution. The right candidate can turn project plans into coordinated, efficient field operations while working closely with project management, subcontractors, trade employees, clients, and design professionals.


Elite Construction & Development is a Pacific Northwest commercial general contractor built on a reputation for client satisfaction, responsiveness, and quality workmanship.

FLSA Status: Exempt

What You'll Do

  • Lead daily field execution of assigned commercial construction projects.
  • Plan, coordinate, and sequence the work of Elite trade labor and subcontractors.
  • Drive project schedule performance through effective short-term planning, coordination, and recovery strategies when needed.
  • Review project documents and identify constructability concerns, design conflicts, field conditions, and other issues that may affect execution.
  • Maintain high standards for safety, quality, site organization, and workmanship.
  • Identify field issues affecting scope, cost, quality, or schedule and coordinate resolution with project management.
  • Maintain accurate field documentation and use Elite's construction technology to communicate and track project information.
  • Develop assigned field employees through clear expectations, coaching, feedback, and accountability.
  • Build productive working relationships with subcontractors, project management, clients, inspectors, and design professionals.


What We're Looking For

  • At least 5 years of progressively responsible commercial construction field experience, including substantial experience as a Superintendent or equivalent field leader.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead field execution of complex commercial construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, site logistics, quality control, and field coordination.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and related project documents.
  • Strong scheduling, planning, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to recognize issues affecting schedule, cost, quality, safety, or constructability.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively lead employees and coordinate subcontractors.
  • Proficiency with construction technology used for drawing review, field documentation, issue tracking, scheduling, and project coordination.
  • Experience with Bluebeam Revu, Autodesk Construction Cloud or comparable construction management platforms, scheduling software, and Microsoft 365.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with multifamily, commercial, or public works construction.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification.
  • Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification.
  • Strong hands-on construction knowledge or previous craft-trade experience.


Work Requirements

This position requires regular work on active construction sites, including walking and navigating uneven surfaces, climbing stairs or ladders, working indoors and outdoors in varying conditions, and wearing required personal protective equipment.


Regular travel to and between project sites is required. A valid driver's license and driving record acceptable to the company's insurance requirements are required.

Compensation

Salary Range: $96,648-$127,986 annually

The anticipated hiring range is $96,648-$114,820, depending on applicable experience, qualifications, project experience, and alignment with the preferred qualifications. Placement above the anticipated hiring range may be considered for exceptionally qualified candidates.

Safety-Sensitive Position
