Responsibilities
  • The Clinical Coordinator will be responsible for the daily operations of the assigned departments.
  • The Coordinator will act as a liaison between their assigned departments and other departments, as well as direct and coordinate the daily activities of the assigned departments including personnel, patient care and regulatory compliance.
  • Evaluates, identifies and makes changes in daily nursing activities, whichinclude implementing appropriate staffing between services, use ofresources and materials, priority setting and patient services to enhance theservices within the department.
  • Motivates, supports, and provides feedback to staff. Conducts staff and shiftmeetings and communicates feedback to Director and Clinical Manager.
  • Supervises nursing and ancillary staff, including hiring recommendations,orienting, training, counseling, evaluating and discharging as per hospitalpolicy and procedures.
  • Establishes necessary staff work schedules and assignments to ensure properstaffing for department needs. Works closely with scheduling to evaluate,identify, and make scheduling changes to enhance services.
  • Works closely with Education Coordinator to assist with orientation of newemployees, certification, student affiliation and any other employee inserviceissues.
  • Participates in the unit Quality Improvement activities and reviewsquality/risk management issues daily, reporting appropriately with otherdepartments.
  • Researches, develops and implements projects as assigned.
  • Complies with hospital and professional licensure, certification, inservice andtraining requirements and committee and conference participation asrequired for position.
  • Interprets and communicates hospital and division philosophy, policies,procedures, and established standards of care and practice. Assists in thedevelopment of departmental goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintains adequate supplies, equipment, etc. for operations of unit/department. Makes appropriate recommendations, assists, and develops the operational and capital budgets.
  • Coordinates admissions and discharges. Serves as a communication liaisonbetween patients, families, staff, and physicians, and reports criticalconsequences of actions taken to Manager.
  • Uses leadership principles in initiating, prescribing, influencing, andfacilitating changes for nursing practices.
  • Uses nursing process to define patient and/or system problems and workscollaboratively departmental and other hospital staff to outline andaccomplish long and short-term solutions.
  • Possesses a level of clinical and theoretical expertise in nursing in order toprovide consultation to the health team members. Maintains familiarity withpatient care issues related to medical problems, surgical procedures, anddiagnostic studies and technical training in the use of equipment pertinent toarea.
  • Serves as departmental and/or Northside representative in working withlocal, regional, and/or state organization and programs related to medicalservices
Qualifications

REQUIRED

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Five (5) years of experience in area of specialty.
  • PREFERRED

  • B.S. degree in nursing or allied health field.
  • Work Hours:7:00 AM - 3:30 PMEmployment Type: FULL_TIME
