The Software Team at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Principal Embedded Software Engineer/Sr. Principal Embedded Software Engineer (Level 3/4) based out of Camarillo, CA. If you are an experienced Software Engineer or Software Developer, WE WANT YOU! Join our team and support our EA-18G Growler Program. All Software tasking will be performed at the Naval Air Warfare Center, Point Mugu and our Northrop Grumman Camarillo, CA office.

Note: Due to the classified nature of the work being performed, this position does not offer any virtual or telecommute working options. Applicants are encouraged to apply only if they are willing to work on-site.

What you'll get to do:

  • Develop embedded real-time system software
  • Work in an Agile environment as part of a scrum team
  • Resolve software and system defects
  • Collaborate with our customer, internal NGC sites and disciplines
  • Participate and contribute to peer reviews, critical milestone reviews, and technical inter-change meetings
  • Use project dependent tools including:
    • Rational Clear Case, ClearQuest, DOORS
    • Git, Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence
    • Ada, C/C++, C#, Python
    • Green Hills Integrity RTOS, Windows, and Linux

This position can be filled at the Principal or Sr. Principal level based on requirements below

Basic Qualifications for Principal Embedded Software Engineer:

  • BS degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) with 5 years of experience; or MS degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) with 3 years of experience
  • Experience with a higher order language such as Ada, C/C++, C#
  • Knowledge of object-oriented software development
  • Ability to function as a member of an integrated team
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g. git, Bitbucket, ClearCase, etc.)
  • US Citizenship required
  • Current DoD Secret Clearance or higher

Basic Qualifications for Sr. Principal Embedded Software Engineer:

  • BS degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) with 8 years of experience; or MS degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) with 6 years of experience
  • Experience with a higher order language such as Ada, C/C++, C#
  • Knowledge of object-oriented software development
  • Ability to function as a member of an integrated team
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g. git, Bitbucket, ClearCase, etc.)
  • US Citizenship required
  • Current DoD Secret Clearance or higher

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal communication and customer service skills
  • Strong collaborative mindset
  • Experience working full software life cycle experience on large scale formal DoD program
  • Experience programming with Ada language
  • Experience programming with C++ language
  • Experience with real-time embedded software development

Primary Level Salary Range: $114,000.00 - $171,000.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $142,200.00 - $213,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
