Position Overview

Northern Health System Counseling, PLLC is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Counselor to join our team in a full-time capacity. This role involves delivering therapeutic support to individuals and families through a remote work arrangement, allowing flexibility while providing essential mental health services.

Work Environment

This position is entirely remote, providing Counselors the flexibility to work from home while connecting with clients through telehealth services. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive client assessments and develop personalized treatment plans tailored to each individualโ€™s needs.
  • Deliver evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, and solution-focused short-term therapy.
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions and workshops aimed at enhancing the skills and resilience of participants.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records and documentation that comply with legal and ethical standards.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, referring clients to additional services as necessary to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Actively participate in ongoing professional development opportunities, remaining informed of the latest research and trends in mental health.
Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Mental Health Counselor at Northern Health System Counseling, you will work primarily with individuals and families facing various mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use issues. Our focus is on providing care to populations that have limited access to mental health services, thereby making a significant impact in their lives.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is required.
  • Active and unrestricted licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of New Jersey.
  • A minimum of two years of counseling experience in a clinical setting.
  • Strong understanding of ethical and legal standards in mental health practice.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to connect with diverse clientele.
  • Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and troubleshooting technology-based solutions is preferred.
Preferred Experience
  • Specialization in family therapy, couples therapy, trauma-informed care, or substance use treatment is highly preferred.
  • A track record of collaborating effectively with healthcare teams is advantageous.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is between USD 70,000 and 90,000 annually, commensurate with experience and caseload.
