Job description

We are currently adding Therapist Interns to our growing team! As an intern at Northeast Health Services, you will have the opportunity to directly treat patients in a clinical setting.

Internship opportunities available across Southern and Northern Massachusetts.

Key Responsibilities:

Under the purview of a supervisor:

  • Conduct‌ ‌Culturally‌ ‌Sensitive,‌ ‌strength-based‌ ‌assessments‌ ‌for‌ ‌new‌ ‌patients‌ ‌and‌ ‌families‌ ‌
  • Provide‌ ‌individual‌ ‌and‌ ‌family‌ ‌therapy‌ ‌to‌ ‌patients‌ ‌based‌ ‌on‌ ‌identified‌ ‌needs ‌
  • Complete‌ ‌billing,‌ ‌documentation,‌ ‌individualized‌ ‌treatment‌ ‌plans,‌ ‌and‌ ‌insurance‌ ‌authorization‌ ‌forms‌ ‌within‌ ‌specified‌ ‌time‌ ‌frames‌ ‌
  • Develop‌ ‌crisis‌ ‌plans,‌ ‌safety‌ ‌plans‌ ‌(when‌ ‌needed),‌ ‌relapse‌ ‌prevention‌ ‌plans,‌ ‌and‌ ‌wellness‌ ‌plans‌ ‌to‌ ‌support‌ ‌the maintenance‌ ‌of‌ ‌stable‌ ‌functioning
  • Create‌ ‌a‌ ‌discharge‌ ‌plan‌
  • Adhere‌ ‌to‌ ‌all‌ ‌current‌ ‌federal‌ ‌and‌ ‌state‌ ‌laws,‌ ‌regulatory‌ ‌requirements,‌ ‌as‌ ‌well‌ ‌as‌ ‌NEHS‌ ‌policies and ‌procedures
  • Participate‌ ‌in‌ ‌case‌ ‌consultation‌ ‌and‌ ‌agency‌ ‌meetings ‌ 
  • Complete‌ ‌all‌ ‌mandatory‌ ‌training ‌

Qualifications:

  • In your final year of a Master of Social Work, Master’s in Mental Health Counseling, or a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy
  • Has a strong interest in clinical outpatient mental health services
