Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking incumbent and external qualified candidates to support North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Cheyene Mountain Complex (NCMC) - Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (NCMC-ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract III (NISSC III).
Please note that this is contingent upon contract award, with an anticipated decision expected mid to late 2026
Qualified candidates will help operate, maintain, and sustain critical national mission systems to deliver resilient strategic threat warning and space capabilities as part of a world-wide architecture, providing strategic warning that our nation depends on during a conflict. This program will provide an opportunity to exploit the capabilities inherent in our diverse national systems to better meet the needs of the national command authority and warfighters to detect, track, and respond to strategic threats through 2030 and beyond
The Configuration Management / Documentation Specialist will support configuration management, technical documentation, change management, and documentation control activities supporting mission-critical NORAD and USSPACECOM operations within the Cheyenne Mountain Complex environment. This role will support operational and developmental environments across space, missile warning, command-and-control, and enterprise mission systems. The ideal candidate will possess foundational experience supporting configuration management processes, technical documentation development, change control, and operational support activities within DoD, aerospace, cyber, or mission-focused environments while collaborating closely with engineering, software development, cybersecurity, integration, and operations teams to ensure technical accuracy, audit readiness, and configuration integrity across the program lifecycle.
Responsibilities
  • Support configuration management activities including change tracking, configuration identification, status accounting, and baseline management
  • Maintain and update technical documentation, engineering artifacts, operational procedures, technical manuals, and system records
  • Support configuration control boards (CCBs), engineering review activities, and change management processes
  • Track and maintain hardware, software, documentation, and system configuration baselines across mission environments
  • Support audit readiness, compliance reviews, and documentation verification activities
  • Coordinate with engineering, software development, cybersecurity, integration, and operations teams to ensure documentation accuracy and configuration integrity
  • Develop and maintain discrepancy reports, change requests, technical procedures, and operational support documentation
  • Support version control and release management activities for technical documentation and system baselines
  • Assist with records management, document repositories, and document lifecycle activities
  • Support continuous process improvement initiatives focused on configuration integrity, operational efficiency, and documentation quality
  • Ensure configuration management and documentation activities comply with program security, operational, and quality standards

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience, OR 0+ years with Master's degree; additional four (4) years of experience in lieu of degree will be considered
  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility required; ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI access required
  • Foundational experience supporting configuration management, documentation control, technical writing, records management, or change management activities within DoD, aerospace, cyber, enterprise IT, or mission-focused environments
  • Familiarity with configuration management principles, change control processes, and technical documentation standards
  • Experience maintaining technical records, engineering documentation, operational procedures, or document repositories
  • Familiarity with document repositories, version control systems, and configuration tracking processes
  • Strong organizational, analytical, documentation, and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate across engineering, software development, cybersecurity, integration, and operations teams
  • Ability to support activities within a fast-paced operational environment

Desired Qualifications
  • Experience supporting NORAD, USSPACECOM, Space Force, missile warning, or space domain awareness missions
  • Experience supporting satellite ground systems, command-and-control systems, or enterprise mission systems
  • Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, GitLab, Remedy, or similar configuration/documentation platforms
  • Experience supporting audit readiness and compliance activities within classified or operational environments
  • Familiarity with Agile development and DevSecOps environments
  • Exposure to software and hardware baseline management activities
  • Security+, ITIL, technical writing, or related certifications preferred

Target Salary Range
$80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
