Job description

Successful candidates maintain composure under pressure, communicate effectively with guests and team members, and take pride in creating memorable bar experiences. Bartenders deliver excellent service that promotes guest loyalty and encourages return visits, collaborate closely alongside servers and support staff to maintain seamless service flow, and help introduce guests to the restaurant’s rewards program and other guest engagement initiatives when appropriate.

Essential Responsibilities + Duties

  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standardized recipes with accuracy and consistency.

  • Monitor the bar area and maintain awareness of open tabs, following established procedures such as securing a credit card for tabs during late-night service hours.
  • Maintain a clean, stocked, and organized bar area, including polishing glassware and restocking inventory.
  • Collaborate with servers, barbacks, kitchen staff, and management to ensure seamless service flow.
  • Complete opening, running, and closing side work as assigned.
  • Assist with inventory control, waste minimization, and proper storage of all bar products.
  • Follow all company policies, food safety standards, and sanitation guidelines.
  • Address guest concerns professionally and escalate issues to management when appropriate.
  • Contribute positively to team morale and support fellow team members during high-volume periods.
  • Bartenders may be assigned to private dining or special events and are expected to review BEOs and coordinate bar service in accordance with event timelines and company standards.
  • Additional duties as needed within the scope of the role.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Valid alcohol service certification (or ability to obtain within required timeframe).
  • At least 2 years of bartending experience in a full-service, high-volume restaurant preferred.
