Job Title: Powertrain Systems Engineer (PMM)
Location: (Remote / Hybrid / On-site - City, Country) Auburn Hills, MI/ On- Site
Employment Type: (Full-time / Part-time / Contract) FTE
Pay Range: 90,000- 100,000
Responsibilities:
Performing powertrain function analysis and function decomposition
• Requirement elicitation activities to gather Regulatory requirements,
environmental and electrical parameters & associated corporate
specifications etc.
• Propulsion system high level functional requirement artifact creation in
IBM DOORS/IBM DOORS Next Gen (DNG) including attribute
classifications.
• Propulsion System Operating Modes Identification, Analysis and
Documentation in DNG.
• Propulsion System energy conversion, storage and delivery
understanding and requirement development considering standards and
OBD compliance.
• Propulsion system EOL Service requirements (IO,Routine,DID) defines
for propulsion components
• Powertrain Energy Management System analysis to for nominal, de-rated
and non-functional performance.
• Perform System Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (SFMEA) for Propulsion
system functions and identify the safety requirement
• Participate in Agile Methodology to plan RASI deliverable timing and
identify potential risks.
• Develop simulation/virtual models for specific propulsion
features/functions using MATLAB, SysML Rhapsody
Requirements:
Engineering other related Engineering degree.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in conventional and hybrid powertrain
development.
• Good understanding on overall vehicle dynamics and vehicle system
functioning.
• Good understanding automotive electrical sensors and actuators.
• Good understanding of functions like gearbox management, energy
management of high-voltage batteries, vehicle's modes related to its
performance, ECU power cycles and displaying powertrain-related
information to the user on the HMI.
• Good understanding of Functional Safety.
• Expertise with automotive communication protocols such as CAN and
LIN along with OBD standards.
• Experience in Function analysis and function decomposition.
• Expertise with Microsoft Office products Outlook, Excel, Visio,
PowerPoint
• Proficient in requirement management tools such as IBM Rational
DOORs, IBM DOORS Next Gen etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Vector Tools for data collection.
• Vehicle Validation or Powertrain Calibration experience.
• Familiarity with Agile project management
• Experience with overall vehicle development cycle and Change
management process.
• Good communication skills, able to lead meetings with cross functional
team.
