Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced SRT Application Technical Team Lead (PRS Lead Calibrator) to join our dynamic team. This critical role will be responsible for coordinating the development and verification of powercube calibration releases across various functional areas within the SRT Advanced application portfolio. The successful candidate will drive calibration maturity, arbitrate technical tradeoffs, and work cross-functionally to achieve program objectives, ensuring the highest standards of safety, regulatory compliance, and performance. This position requires strong technical expertise in calibration methodologies, broad exposure to calibration feature development and regulatory requirements, excellent organizational & communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to lead and track complex and dynamic development cycles.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
As an Lead Calibrator, your key responsibilities will include:
  • Coordinate the development, system level validation, and release of powercube releases (PCR's) for PCAL PRC and SRT Propulsion Systems feature teams.
  • Execute system level PRS validation in coordination with SRT Vehicle Integration teams to ensure proper functional alignment between PRS and non-PRS modules.
  • Work cross-functionally with other calibration subsystems and vehicle integration/validation teams to review issues and implement robust solutions, adhering to best practices and established calibration methodologies.
  • Develop and validate calibration solutions for SRT specific features that fall within the CCSI and/or PCAL PRC perimeter of responsibility in collaboration with core calibration feature teams and PCAL PRC feature COE's.
  • Skillfully arbitrate calibration tradeoffs and resource constraints (physical and virtual) between calibration subsystems to meet program objectives and timing, including safety, regulatory compliance, fuel economy/range, emissions, drivability, and propulsion system stability while maintaining collaborative team-first mindset within the broader team.
  • Represent the application at management ride and drives and PRC program reviews, providing status updates, risk escalation, expert insights, and technical explanations.
  • Support PCAL PRC Quality Gate reviews for SRT applications providing PCAL feature teams with program updates and input from SRT Vehicle Integration as needed.
  • Take and promote a hands-on approach to finding and fixing issues, setting the example for the team through your direct and hands-on involvement.
  • Plan and execute cross-functional test trips when required, ensuring efficient use of resources, timely completion of objectives.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in data collection, post-processing, and analysis during calibration release DVP (Design Verification Plan) activities including the analysis of functional models to root cause and document controls and software issues blocking calibration progress.
  • Maintain proficiency in basic computer skills (MS Office Suite, SharePoint, Kanban) and demonstrate expertise in calibration tool suites (ETAS/INCA, MATLAB, Simulink, Vector). Familiarity with various platforms that interface with dyno and virtual testing (HIL) is also required.
  • Demonstrate careful attention to detail and excellent organizational skills in all aspects of work.
  • As the Lead Calibrator for Advanced programs, you'll place a special focus on the following responsibilities:
  • Work collaboratively with SRT Propulsion System Chief Engineering, SRT hardware teams, and SW/Controls managers to ensure controls feature definitions and requirements for upcoming programs are aligned to meet or exceed program targets for performance and capability
  • Coordinate the implementation & validation of SRT specific controls features using pre-production SW streams to confirm feature capability with the use of virtual or surrogate physical properties.
  • Coordinate technical and logistical SRT CCSI calibration support of PCAL PRC feature teams to enable successful core calibration development to support early dyno development and "proof of concept" vehicle demonstrations.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Mathematics or Statistics or related degree field
  • 8 years minimum of proven experience in powertrain calibration, particularly with high performance vehicle systems, including a minimum of one complete program development/launch cycle
  • Strong understanding of vehicle systems, engine systems, controls, and software development processes
  • Expertise in calibration tool suites (ETAS/INCA, MATLAB, Simulink, Canalyzer)
  • Experience with HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) and dyno testing environments and tools related to it, such as: Puma, Cameo, Indicom, Concerto
  • Proficiency in data analysis and root cause identification using functional models
  • Outstanding problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent English communication skill and interpersonal skills demonstrating an ability to lead a team of peers and foster a team-first collaborative mindset within the group
  • Conflict and crisis management skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters Degree in Engineering
  • 10 or more years of calibration experience including multiple program development/launch cycles
  • Broad exposure to cross-functional calibration feature development
  • Familiarity with Stellantis internal processes and standards including emissions regulatory and certification processes and quality processes
  • Knowledge of statistics and statistical methods
  • Experience with Matlab scripting and other useful data processing languages/tool sets (e.g., Python, JavaScript/NodeJS, PowerApps, PowerBI)
  • "AI Native" approach to work-stream efficiency
