JOB SUMMARY
Reporting directly to the Field Supervisor, responsible for assisting with the training of election poll workers which includes giving presentations, creating and maintaining in-person and online training programs and other materials, and producing videos.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED
- Works in conjunction with the Field Supervisor to conduct training classes for all poll workers prior to each election; classes include oral presentations and hands-on equipment training
- Assists with writing, producing, and printing training materials for utilization in training election staff and poll workers
- Conducts trainings and maintains appropriate records for Volunteer Deputy Voter Registrars using State prescribed training curriculum
- Coordinates information from warehouse operations, voter registration, Texas Election Code, Field Supervisor, and Elections Administrator to ensure all training information is current, accurate, and easy to comprehend
- Works with vendors to maintain, edit, and monitor online training program
- Coordinates logistics for classroom training including room reservations, supply delivery and pickup, and room set-up and breakdown
- Enters classes, assigns participants, and prints rosters
- Assists the Field Supervisor and Operations Supervisor with design and modification of election forms and pre-election material preparation
- Assists voters and the general public with questions and assists staff/poll workers with voter registration questions during elections utilizing applicable systems
- Assists voters and staff/poll workers operate voting equipment
- Serves as a primary contact for the election Judge's hotline and assists with complex issues from elections judges and staff
- Communicates frequently via telephone, e-mail, and in person with poll workers and the public
- Monitors multiple departmental email accounts related to training
- Cross-trains with office staff in other areas to ensure continuity of departmental operations
- Attends all meetings and trainings, as required

- Work outside of the normal office hours (Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) may be required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate degree in Government, Public Administration, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field and one (1) year of experience working in a training capacity including, curriculum production, database management, and customer service; OR an equivalent combination of education or experience
- Working knowledge of video editing software and learning management platforms
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Required within thirty (30) days of employment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Government, Public Administration, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field
- Prior experience working in Elections and/or public-sector environment
- Prior experience training large, diverse groups people
- Registered Election Official (REO) certification within two (2) years of employment
- Certified Election/Registration Administrator (CERA) within five (5) years of employment
