Job description


Be a part of a world-class academic healthcare system at UChicago Medicine as a Nutrition Technician PRN at our main medical campus. In this role you will partner with the rest of the clinical team to provide patients with the highest quality of care.
As a Nutrition Technician, you will work under the general direction of the lead pediatric registered dietitians to prepare specialty infant formula and additives. In compliance with the Departmental policies and procedures, this individual contributes to the provision of optimal nutritional care of the patients at the University of Chicago Hospitals.
Nutrition Technician PRN role can offer a flexible opportunity for nutrition students to gain hands-on experience in an acute care setting while supporting clinical nutrition services.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Good communication skills to interact with patients and staff.
  • Good knowledge of basic food safety and aseptic mixing procedures with measuring equipment.
  • Good knowledge of record keeping practices.
  • Successful completion of core technician competencies and subsequent yearly competencies.
  • Considerable skill in working with attention to detail.
  • Considerable verbal communications skills.
  • Familiar with computers and keyboard usage.
  • Adept at math calculations.
