Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) - Inpatient Unit (PRN 7pm-7am)
Location: Largo, FL

Job Summary
We are seeking skilled and compassionate Registered Nurses (RNs) to support the opening of a Hospice Inpatient Unit in Largo, FL. In this PRN role, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered hospice care on a 7pm-7am shift, helping ensure comfort, dignity, and meaningful support for patients and their families.
As a Hospice RN, you will use your assessment, clinical intervention, and teaching skills to address patient needs, manage symptoms, and promote quality of life within a supportive care team. Scheduling is flexible and based on patient census and your availability.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to identify physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans for terminally ill patients and their families.
  • Provide symptom management, comfort measures, and supportive care throughout the shift.
  • Deliver patient and family education regarding disease progression, medications, and care expectations.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure seamless, holistic patient care.
  • Monitor patient conditions, respond to changes, and document all findings accurately.
  • Support families through communication, emotional support, and clear guidance during end-of-life processes.
  • Maintain compliance with hospice standards, HIPAA, and organizational policies.

Requirements
Required:
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Florida (unrestricted).
  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience (hospice, palliative, or acute care experience strongly preferred).
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to manage complex symptoms.
  • Excellent communication and patient-family support skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously during overnight shifts (7pm-7am).
  • Compliance with all health, safety, and confidentiality policies, including HIPAA.
  • Previous Hospice RN or Inpatient Unit experience.
  • Experience in end-of-life education and family support.
