Job Description

The Service Manager oversees technicians and supports the daily operations of the service department within a commercial and industrial HVAC organization. This role ensures efficient scheduling, strong technical support, and excellent customer service while maintaining safety standards and supporting the professional growth of service technicians.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage service technicians, providing day-to-day leadership and direction.
  • Schedule service calls and coordinate technician assignments to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
  • Handle customer requests and inquiries, ensuring clear communication and high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Manage dispatching and scheduling activities, including prioritizing service calls and aligning resources.
  • Provide technical support to field service technicians, assisting with troubleshooting and complex service issues.
  • Develop, implement, and refine training programs for service technicians, based on their needs and requests.
  • Offer on-the-job support and training for technicians to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Maintain strong customer relations through professional communication and follow-up on service work.
  • Oversee billing processes, including reviewing service work, creating estimates, and ensuring accurate invoicing.
  • Assist with inventory management by ordering, tracking, and maintaining parts, tools, and equipment.
  • Coordinate and schedule subcontractors to support service operations when needed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies within the service department.
  • Monitor and maintain adherence to commercial and industrial HVAC service standards and best practices.

Essential Skills

  • At least 10 years of experience in HVAC field service, with strong experience in commercial and industrial systems.

  • OSHA 10 certification.
  • EPA certification.
