Location: Virginia (Candidates must reside in the Charlottesville area, Southeast Virginia, or Northern Virginia)

Position Type: Full-Time

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly adaptable Traveling / Mobile Director of Nursing (RN) to support our skilled nursing facilities throughout Virginia. This role is ideal for a strong clinical leader who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and making a positive impact across multiple locations.

The Traveling Director of Nursing will serve as the interim DON when facilities experience leadership vacancies or require additional clinical support. When permanent DON coverage is in place, this individual will assist facilities with special projects, clinical initiatives, regulatory preparedness, quality improvement programs, staff development, and operational support.

Responsibilities

Serve as the interim Director of Nursing at assigned skilled nursing facilities as needed.

Provide clinical leadership and oversight to nursing teams.

Support facilities in maintaining compliance with federal, state, and company regulations.

Assist with survey readiness and regulatory compliance initiatives.

Lead quality assurance and performance improvement projects.

Support staff education, training, and clinical development programs.

Collaborate with facility leadership to improve clinical outcomes and operational effectiveness.

Travel throughout Virginia based on organizational needs.

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia.

Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Director of Nursing (DON) in a skilled nursing facility.

Strong knowledge of long-term care regulations and clinical operations.

Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Ability and willingness to travel throughout Virginia as needed.

Reliable transportation and flexibility to work at multiple locations.
