Job description

Job Description One of our clients is hiring for a Project Accountant in Atlanta, GA. This is a great opportunity to join a well-established specialty contractor with a nearly 100-year history in the Atlanta market. The Project Accountant will oversee project financial data, including job costing, progress billings, and project activity review, while partnering closely with Project Managers to resolve billing issues.

This role also involves tracking job costs against budget, maintaining WIP schedules, and monitoring cash flow to ensure funding for obligations. It's an excellent fit for someone with a construction accounting background who enjoys hands-on project-level work and cross-functional collaboration. Responsibilities: Prepare and issue accurate progress billings, reconciling labor and non-labor inputs with supporting documentation Partner with Project Managers to resolve billing issues and ensure accurate job costs and adjustments Track job costs versus budget, analyze variances, and review contracts and change orders for compliance Prepare and maintain WIP schedules, support audit requests, and provide financial guidance to project teams Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 3+ years of accounting experience, construction background preferred Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical and problem-solving ability Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
