Job description

Position: Tank amp; Pump Technician
Location: Syracuse, NY
Schedule: Days M-F, with evening and weekend on call rotation
Compensation: $25-$29/hour, based on experience
Paid lunches, cell phone reimbursement, and the opportunity for overtime.
What We Are Looking For
The Tank amp; Pump Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fuel storage and dispensing systems at commercial, industrial, and retail customer sites. This role ensures that all fuel equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with state and federal regulations. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to work quality and customer satisfaction.
What You Will Do
  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair fuel tanks, pumps, meters, and related equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, calibration, and system testing.
  • Inspect and ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards.
  • Assist with tank removals, replacements, and new system installations.
  • Diagnose electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical issues related to fuel dispensing systems.
  • Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and inspection documentation.
  • Respond to emergency service calls and participate in on-call rotation as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Fuels Operations and Environmental teams to ensure proper handling of fuel systems and materials.

What You Will Need
  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in propane, oil, or gas industry preferred.
  • Class B License (minimum required), Hazmat Endorsement preferred.
  • Current Medical Certification required.
  • Must pass background and drug testing as required by federal and/or state department(s) of transportation regulations.
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • Occasional exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals/fuels or fumes.
  • Occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions
