Job description

Title: Senior Project Manager - Energy Operations
Location: Tonawanda/Project Locations
Compensation: $100,000 - $140,000 annually, plus commissions (based on experience)
What We Are Looking For
The Senior Project Manager Energy Operations is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the operational execution of NOCO’s energy solutions portfolio. This role leads field execution, safety, quality, and delivery across NOCO’s energy businesses.
The Senior Project Manager Energy Operations ensures that all projects and services are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment within budget, design standards, customer expectations, and regulatory requirements. This position is accountable for operational excellence, workforce performance, and continuous improvement, while partnering closely with sales leadership and finance to support profitable growth.
What You Will Do
  • Prepare timely and accurate project estimates and quotes for the sales team.
  • Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and pricing based on labor, materials, equipment, contractor costs, permitting requirements, and margin expectations.
  • Review plans, specifications, site conditions, and customer requirements to confirm feasibility, identify risks, and obtain necessary vendor and contractor pricing.
  • Manage energy projects from initial estimate and contract handoff through completion and closeout.
  • Schedule and coordinate work performed by NOCO employees, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate labor, materials, equipment, permits, inspections, and other project requirements.
  • Monitor project schedules, job costs, labor utilization, billing milestones, forecasts, and margins, taking corrective action when needed.
  • Manage changes in project scope, including pricing, documentation, approvals, and customer communication.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within scope, within budget, and in accordance with customer expectations.
  • Partner with finance to support timely billing, cost control, cash flow, and margin management.
  • Ensure compliance with NOCO safety standards, OSHA requirements, applicable codes, environmental regulations, and contractual requirements.
  • Oversee quality control, inspections, commissioning, customer acceptance, and project closeout.
  • Lead and develop field supervisors and operations team members.
  • Assign resources and hold employees, contractors, and partners accountable for safety, quality, schedule, budget, and customer service.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, contractors, inspectors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Partner with sales, finance, and commercial leadership to support successful project delivery and profitable growth.
  • Maintain accurate and timely project documentation, budgets, schedules, commitments, change orders, and other key project information within Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) and other designated company systems.
  • Utilize D365 as a primary project management and documentation tool to improve visibility, consistency, and reporting across energy projects.
  • Ensure project records are complete, current, and accessible to appropriate internal stakeholders.

What You Will Need
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in construction management, engineering, energy systems, business, or a related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in commercial construction, energy services, or multi-trade field operations.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex, multi-discipline operations (mechanical, electrical, renewable, or similar).
  • Strong working knowledge of commercial jobsite operations, safety regulations, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, scale operations, and drive operational discipline.
  • Experience establishing and managing operational KPIs and performance frameworks.
  • Excellent executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong strategic, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to partner effectively across sales, finance, and executive leadership while maintaining operational independence.
