Job description

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an experienced NOC Lead to join a a technology and engineering services firm specializing in secure IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud solutions, and mission-critical support for federal government and national security customers. This is a fully onsite position in Washington D.C./Manassas, VA and requires an active Top Secret or Q clearance* The NOC Lead ensures the continuous availability, performance, security, and operational integrity of enterprise IT services and infrastructure. They coordinate people, processes, tools, and vendors to detect, resolve, and prevent issues that could impact mission, business, or customer operations. Responsibilities of the NOC Lead: * Lead daily NOC operations and ensure 24x7x365 availability, performance, security, and operational readiness across enterprise IT infrastructure.
* Manage major incidents, outages, escalations, troubleshooting, and service restoration while ensuring resolution within SLA requirements.
* Supervise and mentor NOC analysts and engineers, managing shift coverage, handoffs, workload distribution, and adherence to SOPs.
* Coordinate technical teams, customers, vendors, and carriers during incidents, maintenance activities, and infrastructure changes.
* Monitor operational performance, conduct root cause analysis (RCA), and drive corrective actions for recurring issues.
* Improve monitoring, alerting, automation, documentation, and operational processes while supporting cybersecurity and compliance requirements. Qualifications for the NOC Lead: * 5-10 years of IT/network operations, systems administration, or service desk experience, including 2-5 years leading technical teams or operational environments.
* Strong enterprise networking experience with TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, firewalls, WAN circuits, and spine-leaf architecture.
* Hands-on experience with Cisco IOS-XE/NX-OS and Arista EOS configuration, along with Windows and Linux environments.
* Experience with monitoring and security tools such as Riverbed NetIM, Syslog, Wireshark, Splunk, Panorama/PAN-OS, Ansible, and Tenable.
* Experience supporting 24x7x365, SLA-driven environments and managing incidents, outages, escalations, and service restoration.
* Knowledge of ITSM Incident, Problem, Change, and Knowledge Management processes.
* AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud experience preferred.
* Active Top Secret or Q clearance. * Ability and Willingness to work onsite in Washington D.C. + Manassas, VA.
