Job description

Position: PE DevOps
Location: Remote
On a typical day, you will find yourself:
• Orchestrating the design, deployment, and support of products in a Hybrid environment - BareMetal, Open Stack, and AWS.
• Researching and implementing solutions for fault tolerance, performance, capacity, and maintainability.
• Working in a CI/CD environment with a dedicated team of engineers and technologies including: Hadoop, Aerospike, Elasticsearch, HBase, Storm, Java, MySQL and more.
• Safeguarding services and infrastructure by performing security-related projects and tasks.
• Provide Tier 2 support to issues escalated from the NOC team. Work with development teams to resolve Tier 3 issues.
• Serve in a 24/7 on-call rotation as an escalation contact for service trouble incidents.
• Design, develop, and implement documentation and/or tools to facilitate the Operations and NOC team responsibilities and application maintenance
Required Technical Skills and Experience:
• Experience working with big data technologies i.e. Hadoop, Storm, Hbase, Hive, Kafka and/or other open source technologies related to this area.
• Data Operations experience - supporting revenue critical ETL jobs in a complex environment with thousands of realtime and batch pipelines. Up & Downstream data availability troubleshooting. Log and data integrity debugging
• Experience deploying and maintaining Low Latency Key Value DataStores: Aerospike; Redis; MemCache preferred.
• Hands-on Linux administration experience (RHEL or CentOS), including high availability, configuration, security, and patch management.
• Understanding of Linux network stack TCP/IP, HTTP, and DNS.
• Experience managing large server fleets is highly desired, using CI/CD tools, like Ansible, Terraform, Packer
• Hands-on experience with Git.
• Ability to participate in a rotating 24/7 on-call schedule.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Ruby preferred.
• Functional experience in relational databases and SQL. Should be capable enough in SQL to author data extraction queries to investigate performance and troubleshooting
• Functional understanding of application development. Ideal Individual will have some implementation experience in a 3rd or 4th generation language.
• Five or more years of hands-on experience in Production Engineering/DevOps preferred.
• Experience setting up and supporting AWS Cloud technologies: EMR, EC2, IAM, S3, Elasticache
• Experience with Kubernetes and AWS EKS/ECS a plus
