Job description

Summary

The department of Orthopedic Surgery is seeking an energetic radiological technologist to provide patient care and technical skills in the operation of diagnostic radiographic equipment for diagnostic and evaluation purposes. This position will work at the Vintage location and at McNair or Sugarland as needed.

Job Duties
  • Prepares patient for radiographic procedures by accurately assessing the patient's needs and providing patient education.
  • Operates computer and radiographic equipment for image production and documentation of images, and performs quality control measures for the purpose of ensuring optimal quality images.
  • Prepares patients films for interpretation by radiologist.
  • Practices accurate and timely completion of scheduled and unscheduled work to maximize productivity.
  • Practices safety measures in radiography and Environment of Care.
  • Participates in research projects.
  • Instructs students and staff on clinical MRI skills.
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited radiography program.
  • No experience required.
  • Certification and Registration as a Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry or Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Licensure as a Medical Radiological Technologist or Limited Medical Radiological Technologist by the Texas Medical Board (TMB).
Department Specific Criteria
  • This role requires an Associate's degree, ARRT certification, and licensure as a Medical Radiological Technologist or Limited Medical Radiological Technologist by the Texas Medical Board (TMB).    Applicants with LMRT by Texas Medical Board and no ARRT certification must have specialties in the following areas: 
    • Spine
    • Extremities
    • Skull

Work Authorization Requirement:

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application and throughout the duration of employment.
