Description

We are seeking a Software QA Engineer who will be responsible for building and executing automated testing applications to ensure the quality and reliability of our Traffic Management System and other related Software. This position will work with other testers, automation engineers, software developers, business managers and technical services team members to determine test plans for product release cycles.


Candidates should have a passion for software testing and be able to design and develop test plans, test cases and test scenarios, defect analysis and results reporting. The candidate will be responsible for implementing modern and innovative tools including AI-assisted environments to expedite the development and execution of our software testing framework.


Duties / Responsibilities

  1. Active participation in team meetings including daily stand-ups
  2. Develop and operate test automation using modern technologies and tools.
  3. Write test plans for ASP.NET Core-based architectures and associated web applications without having full knowledge of requirements.
  4. Enhance existing automation framework and test case structure for Smoke, Functional, Regression, GUI, API, Database and Installer testing.
  5. Perform functional and regression testing of client-server and web applications manually and through test automation execution.
  6. Assist in on-going process improvement efforts to ensure test planning, execution and reporting is effective and efficient.
  7. Compile and communicate test results as defined by QA processes.
  8. Use issue tracking systems to coordinate and collaborate on QA & development activities (i.e. JIRA & Confluence).

Requirements

  1. 1-3 years of relevant work experience. 
  2. Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field required. 
  3. Experience working in an Agile environment.
  4. Practical knowledge of common design patterns such as MVC and MVVM.
  5. Experience building and consuming REST-based or other web services.
  6. Practical knowledge of SQL databases like SQL Server and MongoDb.
  7. Practical knowledge or understanding of modern web application development using tools such as Playwright, Swagger, Postman, HighCharts, PrimeNG, and pub/sub messaging.
  8. Some experience with writing web applications and/or Back-end services using ASP.NET Core or related technologies.

  • No unusual physical requirements. It requires no heavy lifting, and nearly all work is done in a comfortable indoor facility.
  • Occasional - Routine deadlines; usually sufficient lead time; variance in work volume seasonal and predictable; priorities can be anticipated; some interruptions are present; involves occasional exposure to demands and pressures from persons other than immediate supervisor.
  • Job frequently requires sitting and handling objects with hands.
  • Job occasionally requires standing, walking, bending, reaching, talking, hearing, and lifting up to 10 pounds.
  • Hearing requirements: Ability to hear people over the telephone and in person.
