Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of current OR experience (hospital/medical center)
  • Circulating experience required
  • Scrub experience highly preferred
  • Experience with:
    • General Surgery
    • Da Vinci Robotics
    • Pediatrics
    • Trauma (Level II required, Level I preferred)
  • Additional experience preferred:
    • Neuro
    • Ortho Trauma
    • GYN
    • Urology
    • Vascular
    • Transplant
    • ENT
    • Plastics
  • EPIC experience within the last 3 years
  • Must have completed a travel assignment within the last 9 months (No first-time travelers)
  • Active Iowa RN License or Compact License
  • AHA BLS required
Unit Details
  • 16 Operating Rooms (12–14 active daily)
  • Level I Trauma Center
  • Average 35–50 surgeries/day
  • 1:1 patient ratio
  • Cases include Cardiac, Neuro, Trauma, Robotics, General, Pediatrics, GYN, Urology, and Transplants
  • Float required between Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Iowa Lutheran, and Iowa Methodist campuses
  • Scrubs provided
Call Requirements
  • Weekend call rotation
  • Friday end of shift through Monday 6:30 AM
Submission Requirements
  • Current resume with 24 months of OR experience
  • OR Skills Checklist
  • Active IA/Compact License
  • Driver's License
  • BLS Certification
  • Professional reference (preferred)
Good Fit For

Candidates with strong circulating OR experience, robotics and trauma exposure, recent travel experience, and EPIC knowledge who are comfortable floating across multiple campuses.
