Job Description
Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room (OR)
Location: Framingham, Massachusetts
Sign-on Bonus: Up to $20,000 (based on eligibility)
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Operating Room team. In this role, you will provide safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care while collaborating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best possible patient outcomes.
The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating patient care throughout the surgical process. This position also supports patient safety initiatives, infection prevention, quality improvement, and appropriate resource utilization while maintaining compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to surgical patients before, during, and after procedures.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care using the nursing process.
  • Monitor patient condition and respond appropriately to changes throughout the perioperative experience.
  • Collaborate with physicians, surgical staff, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Delegate nursing responsibilities appropriately while providing clinical supervision when needed.
  • Maintain compliance with patient safety, infection control, quality improvement, and risk management standards.
  • Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes.
  • Support emergency preparedness by fulfilling Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) responsibilities during emergencies or disasters.
  • Follow all hospital emergency code procedures and organizational policies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
  • Graduate of an accredited or state-approved School of Nursing.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Massachusetts.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
  • Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) nursing experience.
Preferred
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing (BSN/MSN).
  • Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
