Job description

Connect Staffing is hiring a Machine Operator (Spooling) for a wire manufacturing facility in Fontana, CA. This is a temp-to-hire 3rd shift position paying $18.00 to train on 1st shift and then pay will move to $20 once transferred to the 3rd shift. In this role, you will set up and operate a spooling machine to wind wire to customer specifications, verify alloy using an X-Analyzer, and trim and pack finished spools. This is a Monday-Friday schedule with consistent hours and long-term placement potential.
Pay: $18.00 to $20.00
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 10pm to 6:30am, Training will be conducted on the 1st Shift.
Location: Fontana, CA

Responsibilities
  • Set up spooling machines by loading wire and feeding it through rollers, straighteners, and guides to the take up according to customer specifications.
  • Read and follow work orders, customer drawings, and spec sheets before starting each job.
  • Verify wire alloy using an X-Analyzer and perform visual inspections throughout the run.
  • Trim, pack, wrap, and label finished spools to customer requirements.
  • Perform daily housekeeping in your work cell to maintain a clean and safe area.
  • Report any quality or safety issues to the supervisor immediately.

Minimum Requirements
  • 6 months of experience operating production machinery in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience operating spooling, winding, or coiling equipment.
  • Familiarity with reading work orders, customer drawings, or production spec sheets.
  • Experience performing in-process quality inspections on a production line.
  • Exposure to wire, cable, or metal rod manufacturing processes.
  • Experience using handheld analyzers or basic measurement tools in a production setting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish.
