Machine Operator (CIPP Sewing) at HammerHead:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Machine Operator to join our team. This full-time position requires a strong focus on safety, quality control and efficiency. As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our production line, maintaining a clean and organized work environment, and communicating effectively with team members.
What Will You Do?
  • Operate and maintain slitter equipment used to convert/slit materials so they can be cut to proper sizes.
  • Replace/sharpen blades, measure blades to correctly cut size, cut/measure cardboard cores, and stage material for sewing.
  • Operate and maintain our Cured-In-Place Pipe (CIPP) sewing line including loading materials into the sewing line machine and ensuring proper alignment and tension.
  • Replace and monitor needles, thread, and tape. Monitor quality of material and check for any defects per the Go/No Go guidelines.
  • Generate batches and dates in our inventory management system for the material being manufactured so it is tracked.
  • Label and package material to get prepared for storage or shipping.
  • Document daily performance to monitor efficiency and manufacturing yield per bulk roll while identifying any defects found during the manufacturing process.
  • Maintain the area to 5S standards.

What Do You Need?
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Preferred 2+ years of manufacturing experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Working knowledge of an automated line that requires visual inspections and upkeep to maintain proper efficiencies and maintenance of the equipment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic measurement equipment that includes calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
  • Ability to operate a forklift with provided training.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams.

Work Environment:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to use stairs regularly throughout the workday.
  • Climate controlled environment.
  • Real time demands, schedules, and deadlines per customer needs.
  • Occasionally working with/around hazardous materials such as resins, fuels, lubricants, and batteries while wearing the proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Adherence to company's safety policies and attendance in training events.
  • Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
