Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and mechanically inclined Machine Operator to join our team in a fast-paced packaging and cardboard manufacturing environment. The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining production equipment to ensure efficient production of high-quality packaging materials. This role requires a strong focus on quality control, precision, and equipment efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate packaging machinery and equipment according to specifications and production schedules.
  • Conduct pre-production checks and perform basic equipment adjustments to ensure optimal performance.
  • Inspect and maintain tooling and ensure proper alignment and calibration for each production run.
  • Perform continuous quality control checks throughout the shift, including verifying product size, scoring, slotting, printing accuracy, material integrity, and folding quality.
  • Monitor machine efficiency and product output to ensure production goals are met while minimizing waste.
  • Troubleshoot minor machine issues and communicate larger mechanical concerns to maintenance.
  • Keep work area clean, organized, and in compliance with safety standards.
  • Complete production documentation and quality control records accurately and on time.
  • Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to support smooth production flow and resolve any production concerns.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing or packaging environment (preferred in cardboard/corrugated packaging).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of manufacturing equipment setup and operation.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products.
  • Ability to read and interpret production work orders, diagrams, and quality standards.
  • Comfortable performing repetitive tasks while maintaining focus on quality.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Work Environment:

  • Manufacturing/production floor environment.
  • Exposure to machinery noise and fast-paced operational demands.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
