Job description

Job Title: Machine Operator – Robotic Welding
Job Description

This role focuses on setting up, operating, and maintaining robotic welding equipment to produce high-quality welded components in a clean, organized, and relaxed fabrication environment. You will run robotic welders, perform precise measurements, interpret blueprints, and complete routine maintenance to ensure consistent quality and efficient production.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate robotic welding equipment according to specifications, including robotic systems such as Panasonic and similar platforms.
  • Load and unload materials onto welding fixtures and jigs in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Monitor robotic welding operations and adjust parameters as needed to maintain weld quality and consistency.
  • Perform quality inspections of welded components to ensure adherence to company and industry standards.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on robotic welding equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols to ensure accurate setup and production.
  • Use measurement tools such as tape measures, micrometers, and calipers to verify dimensions and tolerances.
  • Collaborate with team members in the welding department to meet production goals and maintain a smooth workflow.
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Essential Skills
  • At least 1 year of experience running a robotic welder in a production or fabrication environment.

Work Environment

This position is based in a clean, organized fabrication shop with a relaxed and laid-back atmosphere. The role is on second shift, working four 10-hour days (3:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.). Overtime is optional, with the opportunity to work up to approximately 50 hours per week if desired. The welding department operates with around 12 welders when fully staffed, and the overall facility has about 75 employees including office staff. You will work with robotic welding equipment, measurement tools such as tape measures, micrometers, and calipers, and fabrication machinery including press brakes and CNC equipment in a well-maintained, production-focused environment.

The pay range for this position is $40000.00 - $50000.00/yr.
