What is a no experience leasing agent?

A no experience leasing agent is an entry-level professional in the real estate industry who assists property owners in finding tenants for rental properties, such as apartments or commercial spaces, without requiring prior experience in leasing or real estate. These agents typically handle tasks like showing properties, answering inquiries, processing rental applications, and assisting with lease agreements. Training is usually provided on the job, making this a great starting role for those interested in a real estate career. Good communication and customer service skills are essential for success as a leasing agent.

How can I get a job as a leasing agent with no experience?

The qualifications you need to get a job as a leasing agent with no experience can vary, as the landlord that you report to may have specific responsibilities and duties for you. However, most employers expect you to have a high school diploma or GED certificate, and some may even expect a college degree. Because leasing agents meet with customers face to face, exceptional communication and customer service skills are crucial for this role. You also need to have some understanding of contract law, but you can learn this on the job.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a no experience leasing agent, and why are they important?

To thrive as a No Experience Leasing Agent, you need strong interpersonal skills, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a willingness to learn about property management and leasing processes. Familiarity with property management software, basic office tools, and customer relationship management (CRM) systems is beneficial. Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities help you build rapport with prospective tenants and address their needs effectively. These skills are crucial for successfully attracting tenants, ensuring smooth leasing transactions, and supporting property occupancy goals.

What are some common challenges new leasing agents face when starting with no prior experience, and how can they overcome them?

New leasing agents without prior experience often find it challenging to quickly learn the details of property management, rental regulations, and effective sales techniques. Building rapport with prospective tenants and mastering the leasing process can take time. To overcome these challenges, it's helpful to seek mentorship from experienced colleagues, participate in any available training sessions, and proactively ask questions. Successful new agents are those who are eager to learn, adaptable, and persistent in following up with leads.

What is the difference between No Experience Leasing Agent vs Leasing Consultant?

AspectNo Experience Leasing AgentLeasing Consultant
Required CredentialsNone or minimal; on-the-job trainingTypically similar; may require real estate license or certification
Work EnvironmentEntry-level, often in property management or leasing officesCustomer-facing, involves property tours and client interactions
Employer & Industry UsageReal estate agencies, property management firmsApartment communities, commercial leasing firms
Search & Comparison IntentEntry-level, no experience required, training providedExperienced or trained leasing roles, focus on client interaction

The main difference is that a No Experience Leasing Agent is an entry-level role requiring little to no prior experience, often with on-the-job training. A Leasing Consultant may have some experience or certifications and typically handles more client interactions and property tours. Both roles are common in property management and leasing industries, but the No Experience Leasing Agent is ideal for those starting out in the field.

Is it worth becoming a no experience leasing agent?

A no experience leasing agent role typically requires minimal prior skills and offers on-the-job training, making it accessible for entry-level job seekers. It provides opportunities to develop customer service, communication, and sales skills, which can be valuable for future career growth in property management or real estate. However, compensation and advancement potential vary by employer and location.

Why is it so hard to get a no experience leasing agent job?

No experience leasing agent jobs are often competitive because employers prefer candidates with customer service skills, sales ability, and knowledge of property management. Many positions require on-the-job training, and employers may prioritize applicants with related experience or certifications, making entry-level opportunities limited for those without prior experience.

Job description

Havenpark Communities was founded on the mission of creating caring communities for both our residents and employees. Havenpark has a portfolio of 100+ communities and more than 30,000 homesites across the U.S. We are experiencing intentional, rapid growth by continuously acquiring communities.

At Havenpark Communities, our mission is to make caring communities attainable for responsible residents across America. We acquire, improve, and operate manufactured home communities. You may be asking yourself - what makes us different? It is our culture. Our unique culture is fun, rewarding, and inclusive of all. Our five core values guide our everyday behavior: Respect, Grit, Collaboration, Stewardship, and Boldness.

We are the operator known across the industry for filling communities, and our sales team is how we do it. We sell the lowest-cost path to homeownership in the markets we serve, so demand for our product is strong. Your job is to convert that demand into families finding a place to call home, and to earn like a top closer while you do it.

What You'll Do
  • Carry a sales quota. Meet and beat a baseline of 2 to 3 home sales per month, with commission tiers that reward you for every sale above it.
  • Market your inventory. Keep homes in front of buyers through Facebook Marketplace, social channels, listings, signage, and local outreach. Basic, consistent marketing is part of the daily job.
  • Convert high demand into closings. Guide prospects from first showing through a signed deal, delivering an excellent buying experience every time.
  • Keep your pipeline full. Generate and work leads through follow-up, prospecting, open houses, and referrals from happy residents.
  • Own the numbers. Handle sales agreements, payment calculations, sales tax, and credit checks with accuracy, and log every interaction in the CRM.
  • Sell in full compliance with Fair Housing standards and company policy, every prospect, every time.
What We're Looking For
  • A documented sales track record. You have carried an individual quota in a fast-paced, commission-driven role and hit it. Auto, telecom or cable, alarms, insurance, and similar high-velocity environments are a strong fit.
  • A competitive streak you can point to. Top 5%, number-one month, region leader, president's club. If you have ranked against peers and won, tell us where.
  • Comfort with high-volume, face-to-face selling. Strong retail, hospitality, or service backgrounds translate well here.
  • Self-direction and follow-through. You manage your own pipeline, your own marketing, and your own day without being chased.
  • Sharp with figures. Comfortable with payment math, contracts, and the details that close a deal cleanly.
  • Coachable and team-minded. You take feedback, share what works, and show up for your community.
  • Manufactured housing, property management, or leasing experience is a plus, not a requirement.  We hire for sales ability and teach the rest.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.
Why Havenpark
  • Product that sells. We offer the lowest cost of homeownership in our markets, so you are meeting real demand, not manufacturing it.
  • Comp among the best in the industry. Solid base plus an uncapped commission program that pays generously when you produce.
  • Room to grow fast. 100+ communities, 30,000+ homesites, and a clear promotion ladder for people who perform.
  • Real benefits. Comprehensive health coverage, generous PTO, paid holidays, and a 401(k) with a 6% company match.
  • A culture you'll feel. Respect, Grit, Collaboration, Stewardship, and Boldness guide how we work together every day.
$35,000 - $35,000 a year
Base Salary              - $35,000
(Paid regardless of sales)
On-target Earnings  - $78,000 - $125,000
(hitting quota of 2-3 sales per month)
Top performers        - $150,000 - $200,000
(Consistently exceeding quota)

Our culture is what sets us apart. We're fun, inclusive, and built on five core values: Respect, Grit, Collaboration, Stewardship, and Boldness. You'll join a sales team that genuinely cheers each other on - not one that pits people against each other. We invest in your coaching, celebrate your wins, and build careers, not just commission checks.

Ready to Sell Something That Really Matters?

If you're hungry to grow, love connecting with people, and want a career with real earning potential, this is your shot. Apply today and join a team that's changing what affordable living looks like across America.

We offer our employees a golden work experience, including a competitive salary, comprehensive health benefits, generous PTO, paid holidays, a 401(k) with a 6% company match, and above all, infinite opportunities to learn, develop, and sharpen their skills.
