Description
JOB SUMMARY:
The Informatics Analysis is responsible to perform workflow, system analysis, and functional knowledge of design software development/configuration activities associated with Electronic Health Records, patient practice models, and other HIT-related initiatives. This role provides a liaison between organizational departments and information technology in the implementation, optimization and ongoing support of systems and associated technologies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Participate in the implementation, training curriculum development, and the adoption and process improvement of HIT-related initiatives and programs.
  • Responsible for workflow transformation, assessment, planning, design, re-design, validation, testing, evaluation, end user training, implementation support, optimization, and adoption of systems and processes.
  • Participates in troubleshooting and identifying opportunities for information system improvements.
  • Support business needs by applying HIT knowledge to solve business or other applied problems for common and moderately complex problems.
  • Meets deadlines or escalates issues, concerns, and barriers to project leader(s)
  • Provide technical support to staff
  • Evaluating report requests to determine requestor's needs and objectives, identifying correct methodology for extracting data including data sources and criteria, and ensuring the delivered report is accurate, timely, and formatted appropriately.
  • Design reports for internal teams and/or external clients in such a way that is easily understandable and appropriate
  • Perform root-cause analysis of bottlenecks caused by system issues or workflow related issues, conduct research, and recommend possible solution(s) by using analytical skills to determine solutions and resolve problems.
  • Actively engage in meetings and be able to provide detailed follow-up action items
  • Collaborate with team members to collect and analyze data against CHSI business protocols
  • Maintain data integrity of systems
  • Perform all other duties as directed either formally or informally, verbally or in writing

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Significant experience using quantitative data analysis to solve business problems. Demonstrated experience working with large data sets and relational database structures.
  • Utilize data visualization tools to create graphs, infographics and be able to present findings
  • Possess critical thinking to engage in well-constructed analyses derived from large datasets in support of business needs
  • Possess strong problem solving, excellent interpersonal/ communication skills.
  • Intermediate exposure to Microsoft Outlook, Access, Microsoft Excel, Word, SharePoint, Power Point, Visio, or other Microsoft office products required
  • Intermediate exposure to SAS, SSRS, and crystal reports strongly preferred
  • Exposure and knowledge Learning management system LMS
  • Ability to explain complex data analyses and findings in a way that is easy to understand and appropriate to the audience.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with time-sensitive deadlines a must.
  • Utilizes appropriate tools to meet needs. Understands the data model and date use of assigned systems.
  • Knowledge of data management strategies when working with large data sets for troubleshooting

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor's degree with a focus in data analytics, preferred.
  • One to three years of relevant work experience in data analytics, required, in lieu of education.
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare and/or clinical arena, a plus.
  • Demonstrated understanding of general concepts of business/healthcare environment, types of information used, how the data is produced, consumed, and transformed required.
  • Intermediate experience with Excel, required (must be familiar with how to use pivot tables, and basic functions such as VLookup, date, count functions, etc.).
  • Experience working within an integrated healthcare system environment (such as EHR/EMR, Population Health, CRM, PBM etc.) preferred.
  • NextGen EMR experience, a plus.
